Melissa Addington is Co-Founder and Vice President of Client Services at American Wealth Advisers, where she also serves as a Registered Financial Representative. She and her husband, Kyle, have been married for 31 years and founded American Wealth Advisers together 30 years ago. Her work brings together three areas she is passionate about: financial education, technology, and creating an exceptional client experience.

One of Melissa's greatest professional interests is developing FinTech and digital solutions that make financial services simpler, more accessible, and more engaging for clients. She believes technology is at its best when it removes complexity, improves communication, and gives clients a clearer understanding of their financial lives.

Melissa is equally passionate about financial education for women. She focuses on helping women better understand investing, retirement planning, and the financial decisions that shape their futures. Her goal is not simply to provide information, but to help women develop the knowledge and confidence to take an active role in their finances and make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Before entering financial services, Melissa built a career in marketing and advertising and earned a degree in Fine Art from the University of Colorado. Her creative background continues to influence her approach today, from how she communicates financial concepts to how she thinks about technology, design, and the overall client experience.
Born and raised in southeast Denver, Colorado, Melissa still feels most at home outdoors. When she isn't working, she enjoys golf, watercolor painting, and spending time with her three Western-named cats: Whiskey, Johnny Ringo, and Billy the Kid (William Bonney).
But ask Melissa where she would rather be, and the answer is easy: on a river with a fly rod in her hand. Fly fishing is her true passion and her favorite way to unplug, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.
